Submitting a website for inclusion.
You can submit a website by clicking on the link that says Submit URL at the top of the menu bar. You can either use the propagation tool or submit your website manually.
The propagation tool probes your website for the Title, Keywords, and the Description information which propagates 4 of the submission form fields...
- The Website Title, obtained from the title tag » <title>Your website title</title> obtained from your website
- The Website Description obtained from the description meta tag » <meta name="description" content="Your website description"> obtained from your website
- The Website Keywords obtained from the keywords meta tag » <meta name="keywords" content="Your, website, keywords, here"> obtained from your website
- And of coarse the URL address you typed into the propagation field tool itself.
Please Note the propagation tool is purely optional and only works effectively if your site uses standard HTML for the title, description and keyword meta tag data coding procedure otherwise you will have to fill in the form fields manually. You may also want to note when using this propagation tool that you make sure your title, description and keyword meta tag data are optimised and relevant to your website.

| Q. Why can't I submit my website? |
A. Does your website meet our Terms and Conditions criteria. We only accept either New Zealand or Australian based websites, or strongly connected with these two countries. If you are a webmaster overseas outside these countries and want to submit sites with either New Zealand or Australian based connections you will have to contact us to apply for inclusion as we have blocked all other countries from submitting websites out side New Zealand and Australia because of the high volume of URL spamming.

| Q. I am having trouble submitting sites from New Zealand or Australia what do I do? |
A. If you live in NZ or Australia and still can't submit your website this will be most likely that you are getting re-routered to a international Internet gateway to access your Internet connection and uses a non NZ or Australian IP address therefore you won't be able to submit your website directly. If this is your case please contact us.

| Q. I am a webmaster and web designer, can I submit bulk websites? |
A. Yes you can, we encourage you to use the same email address that way it will be much for you to manage and edit your submissions.

| Q. How long does it take before my link submission is accepted? |
A. This can vary please read our Terms and Conditions for more information. If accepted usually within the same day or at least within 24 to 48 hours or so.

| Q. Can I edit and update my website listing details once I submit my site? |
A. Yes you can, when you submit your website to the directory you will receive a email that contains the link information to edit and update your submission for the future if you wish, so we encourage you to keep this email for your future reference. Please Note: That if you re-edit your submission it will have to under go re-approved by us before it will be shown in the directory again. | Q. Do I have to link back to NZ Webz Directory? |
A. Essentially no, but in some cases we may require a link back especially if you have a links page on your website with other directories listed, it would not be very courteous to not link back to us and support our free service in this case.
We also need other websites linking to us to improve our web presence and ranking so your submission can be easily found.

A. Linking back to NZ Webz Directory builds link popularity for both websites and this is one main factor for major search engines to rank websites. | Q. What is a thumbnail and what is the default thumbnail? |
A. A thumbnail is a very small image of a larger original object or image, in our case it is a snap shot of your website as a small image. The default thumbnail image that our directory uses is supplied free by a service called thumbshots.org.
Note you must be listed in the Dmoz.org Open Directory Project for the default thumbnail of your website to be shown on NZ Webz Directory website.

| Q. Can I use my own thumbnail image? |
A. Yes you can, you can use a custom image by the size of 120x90 pixels hosted on your website.
Please Note: If your image exceeds 125x100 pixels it will most likely be rejected.

| Q. I submitted a custom thumbnail but it does not show for my website listing? |
A. The most likely cause of this to happen is that the custom thumbnail image you submitted was not the correct image size 125x100 pixels therefore we would have rejected the image, another possible reason could be that you submitted an incorrect image path. Customised thumbnail images must be the correct size of 125x100 and also hosted on the same website server as the URL link that you submit.

A. This is totally out of our control. however please visit thumbshots.org to request an up date of your website thumbnail.
